Whatever happened to Will Write For Beer?

For the past year my Will Write For Beer blog has been read by nearly dozens of readers – well, almost a dozen readers… perhaps. In that time I’ve strenuously avoided updating whenever possible, tweaked the design until it looks almost exactly the same as it did a year ago and diligently scanned my Google Analytics account to double check how many times I’ve been visiting my own site.
It was while investigating my Google ranking that the sheer brilliance of naming my blog ‘Will Write For Beer’ was made apparent. Not only did I come up with that name all by myself, but so did another smart guy called Larry Hinkle. In fact there was also another blog with the same title, but that one’s buried somewhere down the list of Google results, whereas Larry’s site came out on top.
The internet is a big place but it’s certainly not big enough for two relatively obscure blogs to share the same title. I therefore decided to rename my own blog and donate the willwriteforbeer.com domain to Larry – he’s a smart guy, plus he likes beer and animals (admittedly he writes ads for a living, so he might be a little bit evil, but I like that in a blogger).
From hereon, therefore, my blog will be entitled ‘Ed Price Is Hungry’ and will be found at edpriceishungry.com. Why it’s called ‘Ed Price Is Hungry’ might be made clear over the coming months, depending on how generous I’m feeling. For now let it be known that the most prominent Ed Price on the internet is a sports reporter. This site has nothing to do with him, and will likely have nothing to do with sports. I just hope he doesn’t find out about this site because he’s probably bigger than me. And even if he’s not bigger than me his friends probably are.
There are some other Ed Prices on the internet. This site has nothing to do with them either. In fact this site has nothing to do with any people called Ed Price. Certainly no real people…
